SEED Alumni Testimonials

Michael P. Mullen

Investment Banking Vice President at Morgan Stanley

“My involvements in SEED certainly accentuated both my learning in the classroom and my experiences professionally. Throughout my time as an analyst, I gained a sense for what works in the capital markets and what doesn't. I've been able to develop an appreciation for how meticulous active-managers must be at balancing both return-oriented and risk-management specialties. I learned that finding opportunistic disconnects between price and intrinsic value is no small task! I firmly believe that I wouldn't be in the position that I am in today without all that I was able to learn and experience through this organization.”

Kody Cobb

Analyst at VTC Fund

“My involvements in SEED have unquestionably put me in a position to be successful and dictate my career path post-undergrad. As a member of the college of engineering (chemical), finance was more of a hobby and engineering had put me in a niche vertical of job opportunities that I was not that passionate about. SEED allowed me to shape my career and collaborate with some of the most high achieving students on campus, which gave me a clear perspective and source of motivation. I use the skills that I developed in SEED on a daily basis in my career as a venture capitalist while also relying on my technical background. This organization is truly unique and I would recommend it to any student at Virginia Tech that is searching for a collaborative atmosphere.”
